started off the weekend with some good news, Will Mfcee and Dan Quirion would both be in the line up for the weekend games against CBU (both had been out with foot injuries). On friday night we loss by 10 points. It was a tie game after the first quarter but had a tough second quarter only scoring one point. We made a little run but never able to get closer than 6 points down the stretch. Saturday was a different story with us taking home the win 90-88. Really good game, back and fourth throughout the entire 4 quarters. Unfortunately Will sprained his ankle again at the end of the game. But clutch free throws down the stretch clinched us the game. We are now 2 points out of a playoff spot behind SMU with 7 games left in the regular season.

Up and down weekend for the team over the weekend. Got a big win friday night over UPEI. After a slow start the boys picked it up and we held the lead for most of the game. We almost lost a 12 points lead but we were able to hold off the Panthers and grab a huge 4pts in the standings. After the Friday night game we were in a 5 way tie for 2nd place in the league with a total of 12pts. Saturday was a disappointing game for us, with a big crowed that showed up we had a really bad second half (especially on transition defense) and ended up losing by 30 points to Acadia. After the weekend we are in a tied in the standings for the final playoff spot with SMU. We head to PEI on friday for another big 4pts game which will be our only game of the weekend.

My name is Alex DesRoches and I am in my fifth year with the Varsity Reds. We are having an up and down season right now with a record of 2-6. Coming back from the Christmas break we had a tournament in Montreal where we went 1-2. We played Bishops on the first night and got a 20 pts win. The second night we played a very tough game bringing McGill into triple overtime and suffered a 3 pts loss. The final day of competition we had another though loss to UQUAM losing by 1 pts on a questionable call by the ref with 1.8 seconds left.

Coming back from the break, our second leading scoring last year and AUS rookie of the year Will Mcfee returned from Australia to join the team in Montreal. Unfortunately, Dan Quirion is still Usuffering from a foot injury that he got in the last game vs CBU during the first semester. Our next 2 games will be at home this Friday vs UPEI at 8pm and Saturday vs Acadia at 8pm. Both games are 4pts each and with 2 pts separating 7th place and 2nd place in the league, it is easy to say that they are both very important games!
